Where Consumers Can Find Stability—With YOU

Tumultuous economic times.  Uncertainty in the real estate market.  Instability with banks and lending institutions.  It’s quite the frightening time when you read headlines in the media, let alone trying to navigate these waters.  Think about how home buyers and sellers feel right now.

What can you offer these buyers and sellers thrust into this situation?  Stability.  Your commitment to service, to education, to honesty and integrity.

When you advertise (electronic or print), blog, meet someone, connect online or where ever you put yourself – be sure to give a good overview of your ability to help your clients through difficult times.

  • Focus on how long you’ve been in the real estate business.  (Or, for newbies, focus on how long your company has been around and the deep, long standing resources it has available to it—and you.)
  • If you’ve been through difficult economic dips in the housing market before (think last few cycles), outline how you helped home buyers and sellers then—and are able to use this experience to their advantage.
  • Offer your understanding of the market.  Give examples of how you’ve helped first time buyers, relocating families, short sale/pre-foreclosure clients and others get through this difficult time.  (Be sure to add some testimonials from these clients if you can.)
  • If you’ve received awards, focus on any that showcase your ability to communicate, understand and build trust with clients.  (Skip the rest for now.)
  • Perhaps a previous personal situation parallels some of the current economic instability.  If you are comfortable, share your experience and how that has helped you empathize with clients you work with and understand their situation to best help them.
  • Share resources to help those home sellers who may be having financial difficulty.  Your concern for their welfare is first and foremost; earn their trust now and they’ll return to you when they are able to purchase a home once again.
  • You can save a buyers and sellers time and money with your services.  Focus on this.

Market yourself to earn buyers’ and sellers’ trust before they’ve ever met you or had any exchange with you.  Long before they choose to work with you, buyers and sellers will be more receptive to your message – and working with you – when you speak to them honestly.

No, you don’t have a crystal ball to predict the future of the economic and real estate markets.  But, you have a professional reputation to showcase to ensure buyers and sellers find you trustworthy and credible.  Make it work to your advantage!
